Yankalilla Veterinary Clinic is a locally family owned independent veterinary practice of Dr Marcus Stafford and Dr Jodie Spence. Between them they have over 50 years in the veterinary industry. Our vets are supported by an amazing team of fully qualified and experienced veterinary nurses: Bianca, Steph and Vanessa.

We all complete CPD (continual professional development) to stay up to date with the most recent veterinary advances. Heartworm, or Dirofilaria immitis, is a parasite that is spread by mosquitoes, so you pet does not even need to be in contact with other pets to become infected! Heartworm has a complicated life cycle.
