Knee replacement
Report
This surgery aims to relieve pain. Pain results when damaged surfaces of your knee joint grind against each other as you walk. The most common causes of damage to the knee joint surfaces are osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Total Knee Replacement surgery replaces your damaged surfaces with a new artificial joint.
Partial knee replacement
Report
This surgery aims to relieve pain. Pain occurs when damaged surfaces of your knee joint grind against each other when you walk. The most common cause of damage to one side of the knee joint surfaces is osteoarthritis. Partial (or Unicompartmental) Knee Replacement surgery replaces a portion of your knee joint, usually the inner side, with new artificial joint.
ACL Reconstruction
Report
The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is in the middle of the knee joint. It connects the thigh and shin bones and helps control back and forth motion while stabilising the knee. ACL reconstruction involves using a graft to help replace a damaged ACL ligament and support knee stability. An ACL reconstruction is often needed after the ligament suffers significant damage, such as a complete tear.
Knee arthroscopy
Report
This surgery aims to investigate the joint surface, ligaments and the cartilage inside your knee joint, using a small camera called an arthroscope. This surgery is recommended if you have signs and symptoms of a torn meniscus, cartilage damage, loose bodies or cysts, instability, patello-femoral disorders or a joint infection.
Patello-femoral replacement
Report
This surgery aims to relieve pain caused by damaged surface of your kneecap grinding against your thighbone. The main cause for damage is osteoarthritis, where the cartilage wears out causing your bones to rub against one another when you walk, squat or climb stairs. Patello-femoral Knee Replacement surgery replaces a portion of your knee joint, under your knee cap and the adjacent part of the thighbone, with a new artificial joint.
