The Pet Oncologist
I am a Veterinary Oncologist based in Brisbane, Australia. I offer veterinarians remote pet cancer advice and support by providing the best possible care and recommendations for all species of animals with cancer. My online pet oncology service is available to all veterinarians worldwide (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm AEST) with all reports supplied within 1 to 3 business days.

I also provide 'Education' and 'Handouts' for veterinarians (and veterinary students) who wish to obtain CPD points and learn more about cancer in animals. For pet owners seeking specialist advice for their pet with cancer, please ask your veterinarian to contact me. Alternatively, I am available for consultations directly to pet owners every Wednesday at Veterinary Specialist Services in Underwood, Brisbane.
Services
I graduated in 2009 from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. I started my veterinary career by completing a small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Specialist Services (Brisbane), followed shortly by working in small animal emergency and general practice. I moved to Sydney in 2012 to complete a three-year veterinary oncology residency program at the Animal Referral Hospital (Homebush).
Watch a 5-minute video on 'HOW TO ORGANISE A CONSULTATION & FEES' with The Pet Oncologist. It is often a challenging time for veterinarians and pet owners when a pet has cancer. Many pet owners are emotionally overwhelmed and seek information regarding their pet's prognosis and available treatment options.
The Pet Oncologist is available for consultations to pet owners every Wednesday at Veterinary Specialist Services, Underwood, Brisbane. To book an appointment to see The Pet Oncologist, please call Veterinary Specialist Services in Underwood directly. Please bring your pet with you for this appointment and please ensure you fast your pet from midnight the night before.
The Pet Oncologist can provide continuing education talks at your clinic, Zoom presentations or voice recorded Power Point presentations on any cancer topic of your choice. CPD certificate(s) provided upon completion. Please contact me to discuss this further. The Pet Oncologist can provide local onsite training at your hospital on how to safely administer chemotherapy in pets.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness
I have consulted with The Pet Oncologist on behalf of several clients now and received amazingly comprehensive and thorough reports back within 48 hours, usually sooner. Catherine is happy to answer follow up questions, and help deal with any problems that arise. I recommend her services without reservation.

I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Catherine Chan, one of my cat got cancer almost a year ago, and thanks to Catherine, she is still alive and well to this day.
From the first visit she took great care of my cat Bronte, sending us detailed reports, giving us options about the treatment, and she's always been available on the phone, to answer our questions.
If I'll ever have another pet that needs a vet oncologist I won't hesitate to call again Dr. Chan

Dr. Catherine Chan helped us in 2018 when our darling cat Smokey was diagnosed with lymphoma. 2 years later he is still well and ruling the house even more than before. Catherine was always available to talk to us between appointments if needed, and is obviously a very caring person, for both the furbabies and their owners. Many thanks to her for the care and treatment she and her colleagues (Anjie!) made available to us.

I have both worked with and had my pet treated by Catherine. She is one of the most caring and knowledgeable vets when it comes to cancer. Very highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Dr Cat Chan and I found her to be passionate, caring, thorough and highly skilled. Dr Cat treats each patient as her own and works hard to provide high quality care. Her extensive knowledge as an oncologist is impressive and if my pets ever need chemotherapy I would trust Dr Cat with their treatments. I learnt a lot during my time working with her and I will always value her teachings.

As a vet nurse and a devoted cat mum I was devastated when our beautiful Devon Rex was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma. It was already quite advanced when she was diagnosed and knowing how Catherine looked after her patients I knew straight away I needed her advice. From that first conversation Catherine was amazing, she provided us with several different treatment options and all the information that we needed to help us make the decision to go ahead with chemotherapy. We completed a 5month chemo course, during that time we had a few hiccups but Catherine was there every step of the way to
