In order to understand the causes of dry eyes, it is important to understand what makes up the tears in our eyes. Tears are generally made up of 3 different layers: Mucin layer at the bottom to help the tears attach to the eyes, the aqueous layer in the middle which form the bulk of the tears itself and a lipid layer over the top that protects the tears from evaporating.

Firstly, we would need to assess your child's eyes and determine the cause of the lazy eyes. Generally, there are 3 broad main causes of lazy eyes. Focusing errors or anisometropia. This is when one eye has different and larger prescription compared to the fellow eye. Generally this would be initially treated with optical correction either with spectacles or contact lenses.

We source our lenses from leading australian lens manufacturers including Shamir Australia and CR Surfacing. Everyone can get on contact lenses as long as they can demonstrate proper handling techniques and hygiene. Do not worry if you have not used contact lenses before, we shall teach you! If you have a straight forward prescription covered by commercial disposable lenses, the trial lenses are free.
