Services
Being parents and pet owners ourselves we realise the important role that your pets play in the rich tapestry of family life and we strive to keep them in optimal health at all times. Our preventative health care program aims to reduce your visits to the surgery by avoiding preventable disease. However, if they do fall ill, we aim to diagnose the disease expediently and treat the disease effectively, ensuring a rapid return to full health.
A beautiful Veterinary Practice, all staff are so friendly and attentive to the animals and the owners. Their puppy school program was fantastic in teaching us as new parents some basic skills with our puppy. Very thorough with checks and educating us during our check ups and vaccinations. Would recommend them to anyone.

I preface this by saying that I used to work there many years ago as a veterinary nurse, however I’m now firmly on the other side of the consult table as a client with my dog.
I travel 30 minutes out of my way to still take my pet to McDowall’s, as I truly believe they are a wonderful vet practice and I trust every staff member (even those I didn’t work with) with the wellbeing of my dog- who is the absolute light of my life… yes, I’m one of *those* owners 😂

Was advised these guys were good through other friends. I rung them to get an emergency visitation for my French Bulldog.
The clerk behind the counter spoke to who I only assume was the Vet, she stated that they could fit him in and to come in and I immediately stared to drive there, half way through the conversation when she asked 'has he been here before' I stated 'no as I have only just moved to Brisbane' the clerk then rebuffs with you will have to take him to an emergency clinic instead.
So only because I haven't been there before, the appointment that they could have slotted me into, has

My not-so-young furfriend has been going here for a couple of years and he actually enjoys going! The staff are incredible, the service impeccable and they have even taken phone-calls from us from interstate about his care without blinking an eye. Always over and above. They do charge a little more than elsewhere, but then it's common to pay a little more for excellence.

As a newcomer to the surgury I was blown away by the genuiness and caring of the staff and nurse's at this clinic. My little shihtzue Jassy Lee was traumatized by a previous vet, who gave me an incorrect diagnosis , and after only one visit jassy relaxed and built a loving repore with Dr Gemma and the whole staff at the surgury, they went above and beyond to ensure Jassy felt safe and secure with them. Dr Gemma is an extreemly experienced vet who knows what she's doing, ( not to mention a very kind, compassionate and caring person, who clearly loves animals. Their quality of care is outstanding

I’d actually booked into an initial visit for my puppy at a different clinic before walking past McDowall vet and looking up the practice & reviews online. The receptionist that I spoke to was extremely helpful, professional and lovely to talk to. The vet I’ve been seeing has been great. Awesome team that really cares about your pets

Our cat had to be PTS after an illness and the genuine care and support he and I received from the staff in the decision making process and the actual appointment was second to none. The vet we worked with was kind, gentle and patient, taking the time to answer our questions and treating our cat with love.
Our two dogs and other cat also attend the practice when needed. The dogs are both brachy breeds (Pug/JR and Pug/Frenchie). The advice we receive for our pets is practical and treatments suggested are properly explained. We are thankful that we have such a professional practice close by. Thank

Best vet I have been to 😊 The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. They take interest in your pet and make you feel at home. Every veterinarian that I have seen is knowledgeable, gentle and caring. They take the time to listen and don't rush you out the door.
My pup has been very sick and has needed lots of treatment and stays at the clinic. The staff took the time to get to know her and find out what makes her most comfortable. She actually gets excited to visit!

Went to another vet where I was very bluntly told that my dog was terminal and nothing could be done. I got a second opinion from Dr. Rob at McDowall Vet and now my dog is cancer free, healthy and loving life!! If I hadn’t gone to these guys, he would have died.
My dog was also attacked and the team told me to come straight in without an appointment- his treatment and recovery was absolutely perfect!
The Vets, the reception staff and the nurses are incredibly kind and empathetic- I always felt that my dog and I were truly cared for. A very smart, professional and genuine team there. Thank you

This is just a quick email to say thank you to everyone for making our experience at the clinic so calm, homely and positive. Every time we need to bring our animals to the practice, everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly from the ladies at the desk, to the nurses to the vets and to anyone else that works there.
