Avenue Road Stirling Veterinary Surgery
Get to know the veterinarians, vet nurses and support staff at Avenue Road Stirling Veterinary Surgery. Dr Sophie Rumbold graduated from Murdoch University in 1997 and returned to Adelaide for 18 months before further developing her career in the U.K. During the 6 years in the UK she developed a special interest in small animal medicine and surgery and was involved in the treatment of wildlife at local wildife Centres.

In 2006 Sophie spent 6 weeks in Northern India working with Vets without Borders. On her return to Australia she attended a conference on the management of pets in the indigenous communities which sparked a move to the Northern Territory for 4 years. It was here that she developed a special interest in birds and reptiles and was able to travel to some remote communuties to conduct health care programs for dogs and cats.
Services
Veterinary Services
Report
Our veterinary staff offer a high standard and friendly service to pet owners in the Adelaide Hills area. To minimise waiting times, bookings are essential, however we will always see any emergency. We offer a range of elective surgical procedures from Mondays to Fridays and can provide for emegency procedures at any time.
Dentistry
Report
Dental disease is one of the most common diseases in cats and dog in Adelaide Hills. Not only is dental disease painful for your pet, but the increased bacteria in their mouth can be associated with other conditions such as kidney disease, heart disease, and liver disease. As many as eight in ten pets have dental disease!
Vaccinations
Report
Vaccinating your pet is one of the most important things you can do to ensure they lead a healthy life. Vaccinations are substantially less expensive than the cost of vet treatment for the diseases they protect against. Vaccinations protect your pet from transmissible diseases in boarding facilities, at parks and even when they visit the vet.
Desexing
Report
Desexing or neutering involves removing part of a pet's reproductive system so that they can't have babies. Usually we perform this procedure are dogs and cats but other animals like rabbits and ferrets can also be desexed. In female animals it is called a "spey" and in males it is referred to as "castration".
Laser Therapy
Report
In keeping up with recent technology, we are proud to offer Super Pulsed Laser Therapy. This can be used to treat a range of conditions from Arthritis to spinal conditions and post surgery healing. Laser devices simply initiate natural healing processes by working on a photochemical interaction reducing inflammation, modulating pain and promoting tissue repair.
