About Us
Report
Our clinic is independently owned and has been established for over 50 years. We are a team of experienced and dedicated veterinarians supported by a group of exceptional veterinary nurses. We have a natural affinity for animals and genuinely care about the well being of each of our patients. We all undertake continuing education on a regular basis to ensure our knowledge base is kept up to date.
Consultations
Report
Consultations are by appointment six days a week, and evenings on weekdays. We treat most small animals including dogs and cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, mice and reptiles. Emergencies will be seen with priority. Each consultation is carried out in one of our large fully equipped consulting rooms and attended by both an experienced veterinarian and a veterinary nurse.
Vaccinations
Report
Very young animals receive antibodies against many diseases through their mother's milk, but the level of these maternal antibodies decline within the first few months of life. Young animals should be given vaccinations, as early as 6 weeks of age, against preventable diseases and a program will be tailored at your pet's first visit to suit your needs.
Desexing
Report
Desexing, also called spaying or neutering, is performed for reasons of both health and safety. For male and female animals it can reduce the risk of a range of issues such as cancer, reproductive and urinary tract infections and territoriality. Desexing usually reduces aggressive behaviours in dogs which in turn promotes more positive social interactions.
Medications
Report
Many drugs and prescription diets have legal restrictions on their use and can only be prescribed by a veterinarian. If your animal is in need of a repeat prescription, please telephone us so that the prescription can be authorized and made available for collection. The Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia requires that all animals prescribed long term medication be seen by a veterinarian after 6 months of repeat prescriptions.
