Henry, Harriet and (little) Albert Churchill are the recent stewards of Zig Zag Rd Winery located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Malmsbury. Since taking the reigns, they have been on an incredible journey working with some of Macedon Ranges very best winemakers and biodynamic viticulturists to make wine and grow grapes in a way that is in relationship with the land and involves minimal intervention in the winery.

We love all the funky species that make up our delicate soils and we have a serious job to do to protect the land we are stewarding. That's why we are starting on our journey to farming using more regenerative practices. No more nasty sprays. Zig Zag Rd makes wine that express the coolest wine making climate of Australia - the Macedon Ranges.

We would like to acknowledge and extend our appreciation for the Dja Dja Wurrung People, the Traditional Owners of the land that we are farming on today. Vineyard and Winery is a 10 acre vineyard just outside of the beautiful village of Malmsbury in the Macedon Ranges. On Dja Dja Wurrung Country. Set looking over the vines, then the Belltopper Forest, it's a tucked away patch of beauty that delights all who find us.

Wine Store
Report
Wine Folk is different to the 'standard' wine club, because it's more than just buying and drinking wine. It's also about getting closer to nature and farming. Wine Folk members will have our farm brought to their doorstep, and, uniquely they also bring themselves to the farm and wine. Read here to learn about some exciting strategic changes in our vineyard, and why our stock is a little low at the moment.
Farming and Winemaking
Report
It doesn't look like a conventional vineyard, and instead looks wilder, scruffier and more unkempt. You'll see long and diverse grasses through our 'wildlife corridors'; yeomans plough rips in the mid row to let water and biodiversity get deep into the soil; ladybirds, birds, ducks and wildlife flourishing, and, depending on the time of year, a heap of friends toiling as we do everything by hand and don't use harsh chemicals to take short cuts.
