Obstetrics
Report
Before starting to try for a family I advise seeing either your family doctor or myself for a pre-pregnancy chat. During your first visit, I normally take your history and do a careful examination. It's important that you feel comfortable and I encourage you to ask me any questions you may have or voice any concerns, no question is silly and I'm here to help.
Planning a Pregnancy
Report
It's a well-known fact that fertility declines with age for both men and women. Before starting to try for a family I advise seeing either your family doctor or myself for a pre-pregnancy chat. I like to make sure that your vaccinations are up to date, as some infections can be devastating both for pregnant mothers and for unborn babies.
First Antenatal Visit
Report
During your first visit, I normally take your history and do a careful examination. Sometimes we will perform an ultrasound in the examination room and this may involve a vaginal ultrasound. This gives us a really good look at the uterus and ovaries and we may see the early pregnancy and fetal heart.
