Services
Our Approach
Report
Our starting point for therapy is a collaborative process to understand what is currently happening in your life and what has brought you to therapy. In addition to gaining insight into your current circumstances, this will usually involve exploring your experience of significant past and present relationships, and of any specific experiences which have shaped your personality, your sense of self, and your relational life.
Individual Counselling
Report
Individual psychotherapy can be useful in addressing specific episodes of psychological or emotional distress as well as long-standing life patterns which disrupt relationships and your capacity to function optimally. At your first call, we will identify your needs and arrange an initial meeting time with the appropriate psychologist.
Relationship and Family Counselling
Report
At South Melbourne Psychology we understand how and why relationships work or don't work. Relationships are never simple because two people will always have some different needs, dreams, desires and ways of doing things. The key is not always to resolve conflict but to learn how to be with each other in the conflict to find a stronger and more vital relationship.
Our Psychologists
Report
I am a psychotherapist who works with a broad spectrum of psychological and emotional distress including relationship difficulties, the impact of trauma, anxiety, depression and life transitions. My primary trainings and interests are clinical psychology, psychoanalysis, somatic (body-centred) psychotherapy, Jungian psychology, emotion-focussed therapy, and the intersections between western and eastern traditions.

Report
The disciplines of psychology, counselling, psychotherapy and psychiatry share some similarities in that they all aim to assist individuals engaging with psychological and emotional distress. However, they are also strikingly different in some aspects of their training, accreditation and approach to this work.
