The Carlile name has been at the forefront of swimming since 1946. Founders, Forbes and Ursula Carlile pioneered swimming teaching and coaching methods which have been adopted worldwide. Forbes started his journey at the idyllic Palm Beach Rock Pool, two years later he was Australia's first Olympic coach.

Michael joined us in 2002 as a swim teacher at Norwest. He made an instant impression and quickly progressed at Carlile. As Afternoon Coordinator at Cherrybrook and Operations Manager of Norwest, he was pivotal in building strong teaching teams and growing the reputation of each centre. Michael's outstanding leadership skills saw him promoted to Manager of Operations in 2017.

Forbes Carlile began his coaching career in 1946 and later opened Australia's first commercial swim school (in 1955). Today Carlile Swimming teaches more than 20,000 kids to swim each week. Carlie Swimming is recognised internationally as a world leader in aquatic education.
