Edmonton Family Medical Centre is situated just off the Bruce Highway at Edmonton, about 13km south of Cairns city centre. We are surrounded by picturesque sugar cane farms, and have views of Trinity Inlet to the east and the northernmost reaches of the Great Dividing Range to our west. There has always been a medical clinic in Edmonton near the landmark Historic Hambledon Hotel for at least more than 30 years.
This has included the addition of more Doctors in our clinic, and visiting Dietician, Podiatrist and Cardiac Sonographer. The Medical Centre is also home to a Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Diabetic Educator and QML Pathology collection centre, creating a multi-service health precinct. We continue to provide a comprehensive range of cost effective medical services to the community of south Cairns.

Our Reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or your Doctor has been called away. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our Receptionist if you require some extra time.

I recently had snapped my femur and had a rod inserted, I was advised by the orthopaedic doctor to book an appointment to get my stitches removed and get an evaluation by the doctor to see how things were going and so on. As advised I advised the centre. I rocked up to the reception and was called straight in (winning).
I was then met by the person that wrecked my morning the doctor. She was one of the rudest people I have met, after a quick non existent chat and she hardly looked at my leg let alone all the stitches, she honestly appeared out of her game.

As travelling Victorians, we were given the name of this medical centre by the QLD COVID hotline to have our second Astra zeneca vaccine and were refused as they will only vaccinate Queenslanders.That is absolutely disgusting as this is an Australian government program and we all need to be vaccinated

I visited this practice earlier this afternoon and what a pleasure, has excellent staff, polite, courteous with utmost patient care and well being displayed by all.
Dr Johannes administered my first Covid 'jab' which was a pain free experience and I did not feel a thing, a true professional in the true sense of the word. As I was a bit apprehensive prior to having the vacination but his calm, reassuring demeanour made you feel relaxed straight away.
I can honestly state this is the best medical centre experience that I have visited in my 15 years of living in the Cairns Region.

I made an appointment for a badly torn hamstring (can barely walk) and when i showed up i was told I needed to go across the street and use an atm because they didn't have card capability. Atm didn't work so I went back and was told to take an even longer walk to another atm that was out of service and by the time I reached it I was shaking in so much pain I couldn't even walk back. I called the doctor to tell them the situation at which time they canceled my appointment that I waited all day to get. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and how a doctors office doesn't have the ability to take

Every time we call in, we always gets put on hold, every time without fail. They’re never ever on time or close to being on time, I have no idea why they bother with appointments when they can’t even honour the time. Couldn’t get another appointment elsewhere so unfortunately had to settle for this centre, but definitely not my first choice. Doctors do not genuinely care about your health, they’ve got a job to do & that’s all it is, it seems. No honest & genuine advice, just a quick rush, tick & flick.

We have been using this surgery for nearly 18 years and have had the same doctor the whole time. I can not fault the care we have had. Sure we have to wait sometimes, but the same can be said of any doctors surgery. I do not understand the negative and rude comments when we have had nothing but the best care.

Absolutely appalling! After having a 15 year association with a professional family practice in Brisbane, I found it daunting to find a new GP that I could feel comfortable with once I moved to Cairns. I saw the 5 star reviews here on google which brought me to this clinic. I am highly disappointed with my decision to try to make this my new General Practice.
