Carinya Society has been dedicated to advancing the independence, dignity, and human rights of adults with disabilities since 1952. Our organisation was founded in response to the need for care and support in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs, initially serving children before transitioning to adult-focused services in 2001. We operate over 70 weekly programs at our Coburg centre and in the community, supporting more than 110 participants through person-centred approaches. Our services include Centre Based Activities, Community Social and Recreational Activities, Specialist Disability Accommodation, and transport solutions tailored to individual needs.We maintain strong partnerships with local organisations to enhance participant experiences while upholding values of respect, transparency, and continuous improvement. Very disappointed with a staff member's response yesterday afternoon to a request for crisis support for a person receiving funding whose terminally ill, therefore immediate family member's are grieving for their loved one. I will be looking into this further :(
