Richard Banks established his practice in Woollahra in 1999. Before that he had gained wide experience in a number of established practices in Australia and the UK. The ethos of the practice has always been to provide the highest levels of personalised professional care in all aspects of eye care. He provides a holistic approach to optometry, supported by well-established contacts with local GPs and ophthalmoligists.

We've solved the classic dilemma: not everything bearing a designer's name is of the highest quality - while many quality products can fall short when it comes to fashion and looks.
Lenses

We only use lenses from laboratories which have demonstrated to us that they can be made and fitted accurately, and that their coatings will last the distance. Our experience enables us to fit the most appropriate lens for the prescription and frame type, to provide the best optical correction and appearance of the finished pair of glasses.
Contact lenses

Richard Banks Optometrist fits and prescribes most types of contact lenses - from disposable to custom-made soft and rigid gas-permeable. Most prescriptions can be fitted perfectly with disposable lenses which are generally easier to care for and healthier for the eye. These daily, fortnightly and monthly replacement lenses can correct simple prescriptions, but also more complex requirements such as astigmatism or multifocal correction.
