Dr Michael Christian has been a practising optometrist for over 25 years and has a PhD in the integration of vision, mind and body. His aim is to improve the vision of children and adults using a holistic approach to remedy conditions by naturally training the eyes rather than having to undergo surgery.
He specializes in behavioural optometry which looks at addressing the root cause of vision anomalies and disorders that arise from biological changes to the eyes. Dr Michael and his team apply the integration of vision, mind and body aimed at improving the functional dynamics of the eyes. These include functions such as focusing, aiming, movement, visual processing and the effect of vision on the body's ability to perform regular tasks.

Eye Rehabilitation
Report
Microprism Optics has developed a sound form of neuro-rehabilitative optometry that can be used to treat brain issues and restore vision in patients post surgery that a brain injury or concussion. Neuro-rehabilitative optometry can help integrate brain, vision and body function in patients with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological degenerative diseases.
Neuroplasticity
Report
Neuroplasticity is all about how the brain can change the structure of its network of neurons. Neurons are simply brain cells that send chemicals between each other to communicate a message throughout the brain and to the rest of the body. If you say that the neurons have plasticity - the literal interpretation of the term neuroplasticity - this means that their patterns of behaviour can be changed, as they're malleable.
Eye conditions
Report
At Microprism Optics, we have the knowledge and technology to treat a large range of eye difficulties. From lazy eye to cross eye and strabismus treatment, we see patients for a wide variety of eye conditions. We also offer other services such as vision performance, as well as recuperation treatments after surgery or stroke.
Strabismus & Convergence Insufficiency
Report
Strabismus is a word that means while one eye looks at the object you want to view, the other eye looks elsewhere. The name of this condition originated from the Greek word strabisms, which means "to squint". When reading, a person with strabismus or turned eye convergence excess, may experience painful and inconvenient symptoms.
