Established in Brisbane, Aikido Yoshinkan Brisbane Dojo has dedicated over three decades to teaching practical self-defence and martial arts. Our dojo, founded on the principles of Yoshinkan Aikido, offers structured training programs for all ages and skill levels. With branch locations across Queensland and Tokyo, we combine traditional techniques with modern self-defence strategies. Our experienced instructors, including Mori Sensei, provide expert guidance in a supportive environment. The introductory course equips students with essential skills like space awareness, joint locks, and break-fall techniques.We prioritise realistic training scenarios, including unarmed and weapon-based confrontations. Our grading system recognises individual progress through regular assessments. The dojo fosters physical fitness, mental discipline, and personal confidence. Services
Introductory Course
Four-week program teaching essential self-defence skills including space awareness, joint locks, and break-fall techniques. Classes held Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00-7:00pm. Free first class trial available with full course fee of $120 covering eight lessons.
Children's Classes
Specialised martial arts instruction for children and teens focusing on discipline, coordination, and confidence building. Structured curriculum adapts techniques to suit different age groups while maintaining safe training practices in a supportive environment.
Adult Classes
Comprehensive Aiki Jujutsu training for adults covering traditional techniques and modern self-defence applications. Sessions include partner drills, kata practice, and scenario-based sparring to develop practical skills and physical fitness.
Grading Syllabus
Progressive ranking system with regular grading tests evaluating technical proficiency and understanding of core principles. Recognises achievements from beginner kyu levels through advanced dan rankings under Mori Sensei's supervision.

I absolutely love it as a parent. My son has been attending for about 4 months. Wonderful team and owner loves what he does. All the trainers are very passionate and urs nice to see that the people around your kids have such a wonderful attitude. Price is very fair and affordable. Its half of what I paid before at a karate place previously. Plus the session are longer , about 1 hour. Absolutely love this place !

Shudokan is a great place to grow in knowledge, skill and into self. I always feel challenged to improve myself. I love that children are welcome as well as the diversity of the classes.

Great place to start your Martial Arts education. Sensei Jorge is very wise, and the most exciting about this school is that He learned from one of the creators of Aikido. It is very affordable and they really take time to teach you. My son loves to go to the classes. Recommended 100%

Great place. My son loves it. Kids here learn comportment and discipline while building confidence. The adults sessions are really intense and worth every buck. Sensei is very polite and at the same time, takes the sessions serious.

Best price in west houston, kids feel confident, motivated, my favorite part of the trainning is when 3 kids try to put a kid down, and he got to use his self defense.

My son goes to Shudokan School of Aikido since he was 5. He is 9 today. He is building a confidence level he will carry for life and he is acquiring the skills to overcome the expected and unexpected, not only physically but emotionally, with self discipline and a positive approach to aggressions. The Sensei on that school doesn't base his teachings in mechanical movements like many other martial arts, but in a flow where balance and control in motion overcome physical strength. I definitely recommend it to everybody.
