What is Kindy Karate? Kindy Karate is a martial arts training program, specifically designed for children 4-5 years old & 5-6 years old. Who will be teaching my child karate? Sensei Sandra teaches all karate classes. Sensei Sandra provides the best quality karate instruction for children, and is the founder and leading instructor of Kindy Karate and OKUKAN DOJO in Melbourne.
Sensei is an educator with a passion for karate. What will my child learn? Children in our school are taught genuine Japanese karate in structured classes, helping essential karate movements become second nature. By the end of the martial arts program, kids will have developed karate skills that will enable them to effectively engage in learning complex martial art drills.

The Australian Karate Federation Inc. is a member of the World Karate Federation (WKF) and this links them to 170 countries worldwide. Karate as such is one of the ten largest sports in the world. This relationship provides our students access to Junior/Cadet and Senior World Championships. The president of AKF is a Shitoryu member.

Driven by her passion for martial arts, Sensei Sandra brings to Kindy Karate a wealth of knowledge and experience from decades of karate training. She started doing karate at the age of 12 and has since been taught by extraordinary karate instructors, to whom she is very grateful. Sensei Sandra is an accomplished karateka.

We teach a martial arts program especially designed for young children 4, 5 and 6 years of age. Classes are separate for 4-5 year olds and 5-6 year olds. Karate lessons are delivered weekly. Each class runs for 40 minutes and is taught by the head and founding instructor, Sensei Sandra. Our martial arts classes combine fun exercises and drills to help introduce children to the art of karate.

Karate classes for children aged 4, 5 and 6 years old in Coburg. Current Kindy Karate students attending our Coburg classes live in Pascoe Vale, Brunswick, Preston, Fitzroy, Collingwood, Glenroy, Hadfield, Northcote, Reservoir and Thornbury, as well as in other suburbs of Melbourne, particularly in the north and inner north of Melbourne.
