Losing a loved one and organising a funeral is one of life's most difficult times. Most people need practical and clear information outlining the steps they need to take, and, our website offers this guidance and support, to help you through the process, whether you are facing a death in the family or planning ahead by pre-arranging and /or pre-paying your funeral.
Australian Heritage Funerals was established in 1998 by the McGrath-Colquhoun family and remains managed by Judith McGrath-Colquhoun. Judith works actively in the day-to-day running of the funeral home. We are fortunate to be supported by a team of warm, caring and experienced staff. Learn a little about us.
Our team of warm, caring and professional staff are dedicated to helping you in every way. We have the resources and flexibility to help you create a personal and appropriate farewell. We have a beautifully decorated, air-conditioned Heritage Funeral Chapel available for large or small services. Our Heritage Function Room is available for family and friends to share memories over light refreshments.

Our commitment to Environmental Care is all about minimising environmental impact, whilst still providing the best care and service. We do not suppress natural decomposition, by using embalming treatments, unless necessary. We offer a range of wicker and cardboard coffins, in addition to our standard range of coffins.

Walked into heritage with my family a day after my mum had passed, and the first thing we were asked was if any of us are unvaccinated which we replied "that's confidential" then told by Judith that she won't be able to serve us if someone in our group was unvaccinated but ended up serving us anyway because she was unable to find anyone else who would. This is all before even acknowledging my mother's death then questioning us why we would want to look elsewhere before using their services after hearing the $3.5k price tag for a direct cremation.

We buried my mum today. I cannot thank Judith and Simon enough. Working with Judith leading up to the funeral was easy and stress free. When our son died in his motor vehicle accident we didn't know where to begin. We chose Australian Heritage Funerals as they had a 5 star review rating, we now understand why. Judith and her team made our sudden tragic loss less awful by providing the most compassionate, genuine care. Our son's funeral during the Covid crisis and restrictions was handled with dignity and a commitment from Judith and her team to honor our son. We commend Judith and her team for the outstanding job and we would recommend them to anyone experiencing the loss of a loved one.

I would like to thank Australian Heritage Funerals in particular Michelle. My husband was killed in an accident in NSW and Michelle was wonderful in arranging for him to be returned to Toowoomba.
