Take the exit ramp Ipswich Rd/A7. 1.2km later, turn left onto Cornwall St. The practice is on the corner of Cornwall/Earl St. Off street parking accessible via Earl St. To avoid crossing double white lines, continue past the practice on Cornwall St, turn right onto Baron St, then right onto Juliette St, then right onto Earl St.
At Brisbane Bird and Exotics Veterinary Service, as well as working with you to keep your pet happy and healthy, we are continually improving our level of knowledge and increasing the level of knowledge generally in avian and exotic medicine. This involves a combination of research, staff training and individual professional and personal development.
It isn't hard to see why there are more birds kept in Australian households than dogs and cats. Available in such a wide range of sizes, shapes, colours and behaviours, from a single budgie to aviaries full of macaws, these winged creatures give us incredible joy. Fortunately for our feathered friends the standard of care has improved dramatically in recent times.
There is an amazing diversity of species within the reptile group with something for everyone. At BBEVS we see a wide range of snakes, lizards, turtles, geckoes and the occasional crocodile! Every species of reptile are very different from one another, just as a dog is different to a cat. The requirements needed to keep each species happy and healthy in our homes can vary considerably.
These gorgeous little herbivores are more than just outdoor lawnmowers. Guinea pigs make wonderful pets that thrive as our companions. Their increasing popularity is boosted by their compact size, friendly nature and distinct personalities. They even come in a range of colours and coat types. Guinea pigs require time and effort to be maintained in good health.

The team at BBEV are fantastic! Our duck was sick and they promptly took care of her and got her back to health after her 3 day stay. They rang twice a day with updates and were upfront about fees and costs for all procedures. They even called to check in on her after she came home. Honestly, I cannot recommend BBEVS enough, they have been amazing and you won't regret taking your pet there.

Very professional and compassionate. My cockatiel became very ill and BBEVS fit me in straight away despite being extremely busy. She was seen very quickly and spent a week in hospital and was given the very best care.
A vet or nurse would contact me at least twice a day to update me on her condition. Overall a very good experience and would highly recommend

The vets and all other staff at this practice are amazing. They fitted us in on Christmas eve for an emergency consult and then rang us on Christmas morning to enquire as to how our pet was. Unfortunately she didn't make it and died here at home on Christmas morning but we were prepared for this. All of the staff from reception to vets should be proud of the amazing job they do.

I took my little rat Sophie here to get a second opinion on a cervical mass she had. Both Dr Rebecca and Dr Tracey who we saw were wonderful, and Dr Tracey saved our little Sophie's life with surgery! All of the vets and nurses were extremely professional, caring and friendly towards us and Sophie. I got regular updates with how Sophie was going and everything was explained to us really well so we were kept in the loop. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone with exotic pets!

Overpriced!!
My Guinea pig is on a long term medication called frusemide and have been on it for years. We just moved to Brisbane and found this vet. We bought a bottle from this vet 3 months ago and it is running out so we have to buy another 100ml bottle but in order to do so we need to come in for a consultation ($90) every 3 months to be able to buy it. The medication sold at this vet is $144 whereas other vets sell frusemide (100ml) for ~$70. It doesn't make sense to pay for a 90 dollar consultation fee just to purchase a medication that my Guinea pig has to take for life every 3 months and

The vets and staff at BBEVS are very caring and knowledgeable in the treatment of our birds. They understand how precious they are to us and do everything they can to get them back to good health when they are sick. They all work very hard to make sure that they're all very well taken care of, especially since we have had many of our feathered family need some sort of treatment whether it was an emergency, an appointment when not feeling well or for a check up. I have been going to BBEVS for many years and will continue to do so. Fantastic job from everyone.

The vets and nurses here are exceptional. Back in Feb one of my little budgies became very Ill very quickly, and with a little hospital stay and round the clock feeds, meds, and monitoring, they saved his life and he bounced back. More recently they couldn’t save another of my birds, but I was deeply moved by the care and respect they gave his body. He was returned to me carefully wrapped in cloth and twine with lavender sprigs, a card with ink prints from his claws and a little hessian bag of his feathers and fluffs 😭❤️ their thoughtfulness helped to ease my grief on that awful day. These guys are amazing, they have been looking after my budgie Penny helping to try get her back to her healthy self! After spending a lot of money at a normal vet I wish I had come to BBEV’s first! I would have saved myself a lot of money! Dr Emma & Dr Kimberley have been great, any questions I ask they give great response explaining everything in detail and show great care! Would highly recommend to anyone with birds I am happy to drive the 45 minutes from the Gold Coast I won’t be taking my feather friends anywhere else!

Best Bird vet ever, BBEVS have looked after my cockatiel for 15 years. The vets and nurses know her well as she's been in hospital multiple times and she comes home better every time. They are caring compassionate people and are most passionate about their work and their clients. My bird receives better follow up care than humans do when they come out of hospital!

Vet has helped Romeo a lot as we didn’t even know she had a bacterial infection. She was asymptomatic 🦜😁 It was probably too late for Juliet as she was Egg Bond, got sick and passed away. I felt the previous… Vet didn’t really know what they were doing and so I blame them for Juliet’s demise 😭 However BBEV have been excellent with Romeo and handling her infection 😁❤️

I came to BBEVS at my wits end, the vets I had seen prior couldn't seem to give me any clear answers and I was starting to feel hopeless for my little Lady. Not only did the BBEVS team answer ALL my questions but they were true professionals, knowledgeable and compassionate. Lady received the utmost care during her stays, and has recovered back to being her happy and full of life self after her surgery. Can't thank or recommend BBEVS enough.

Everyone at this service was really welcoming and compassionate towards Barry during his last night. Having to put him to sleep was heartbreaking but the vets there made it such a respectful service. And coming… home from work 1 week later, I had received a handwritten card from the team giving myself and my partner their condolences towards my loss of Barry.
I cannot recommend this company enough, and if any of my other piggies show any sign of illness they will be coming right back here.

After 3 vet appointments at 2 different vets for my sick guinea pig I came here and recieved the most comprehensive feedback out of all. The staff were amazing and delicatley sympathetic when the decision was… made to put my girl to sleep after all. They know their stuff when it comes to your beloved small critters, specialists indeed. Highly recommend.
