Research
Report
A key component to providing evidenced-based treatment is ensuring that ongoing research improves service delivery. Essentially, we want to make sure we walk the talk and can back up what we offer to clients with strong research to prove we are effective at what we do. At Anxiety House, our focus is on our clients and our clinical practice.
Anxiety Disorders
Report
At Anxiety House Brisbane we specialise in a wide range of anxiety types. We understand that we're all likely to experience some level of anxiety at some point in our lives. Ranging from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) when you may be worrying about any number of things, or experiencing overwhelming anxiety in specific situations, or Teen, Sleep or Social Anxiety, to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and many more.
Sleep Related Anxiety
Report
Stress and anxiety can lead to difficulties with sleep, making the ability to get restorative rest at night a problem. A bit like the chicken and the egg, anxiety can lead to difficulties with sleep, but a lack of sleep can lead to increased anxiety and a decreased ability to cope. As such, understanding the interplay between sleep and mental health conditions is important, as is treating sleeping conditions as they arise.
Orthorexia: Anxiety about Health and Fitness
Report
Orthorexia is an unhealthy fixation on healthy eating. Although not officially recognised on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-V), it is similar to other eating disorders where individuals obsess about specific types of food and overall intake. Orthorexia typically starts out as an innocent attempt to eat more healthily.
