Some common signs of illness include vomiting, diarrhea, no appetite, lethargy, or sleepiness.

Urgent problems are not limited to but can include breathing difficulty, a swollen tummy, choking, unconsciousness, seizures or discomfort. If in doubt, it's always best to have your pet assessed; even if only for reassurance that they are OK. Our veterinary clinic stay open all night to provide the highest standard of care for animals when they need it.

Perth Vet Emergency was opened in 2009 as the only dedicated centre in Perth to provide compassionate and urgent care to the pets of Perth after-hours. In the early days, Perth Vet Emergency operated with a small but dedicated team of vets and nurses who trained relentlessly to ensure that they were providing the highest of standards of care.

No appointment is necessary if your pet becomes ill out of hours. When you arrive, one of our friendly receptionists or nurses will assess your pet's status. If your pet is critically ill, he or she will be taken immediately to the treatment room and stabilised. If your pet is stable on arrival, you will be asked to complete a form with your details before being taken to a consultation room to await the vet on duty.

When it's nearing the end of the day and you have patients requiring ongoing medical care after hours, we will be here to support you. Simply refer your patient to us and we'll take care of your clients and their sick pets like they were our own.

Then, when you open again, we'll always recommend the client book an appointment for their pet to see you within 48 hours and provide you with their medical history so you're up to speed on their case to make informed medical decisions.Referring a patient to us is easy.
