Whether you are going on a holiday or just a road trip, it is important to make sure your pet is comfortable. Dr James and his amazing team provide modern, professional and affordable health care for your pets. We aim to make your pet feel at ease in our clinic with a caring and gentle approach to treatment and consultations.

Our dedicated staff and veterinarians are all passionate about pets, and are avid animal lovers. As the weather warms up, we start to see more parasite problems for all sorts of pets. Here are some of the more common parasites we come across, as well as some information on the problems they cause. Around springtime, we often see an increase in itchy skin (dermatitis) and ear infections in dogs and cats.
Services
Salisbury Veterinary Clinic was established in 1983 and has been servicing the community for over 36 years. The clinic has grown from strength to strength relocating to Unit 1, 688 Toohey Road Salisbury in 2016. Our experienced and friendly staff provide a personal and caring service for your pets.
When an animal develops an unusual illness or injury, there is often a need for specialised expertise and equipment to properly diagnose and treat the problem. Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood.
Because pets age so rapidly, major health changes can occur in a short amount of time. The risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, heart disease and other serious conditions all increase with age. Today's pets are living longer than ever, chances are that many may experience a potentially serious illness during their lifetime.
Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, intestinal worms and heartworms. Worming is one of the first health care issues pet owners need to address as pups and kittens are the most susceptible. As their name suggests, intestinal worms are parasites that live inside your pet's intestines.

Dr James was amazing. My normally very anxious cat was more than happy to be held by him and moving around the room

The vet didn't give the dog a proper examination of any sort but they certainly took the money for the 'consultation'. My little poodle barked and was told she was 'rude' lol. One 'nurse' stood there just staring at us the entire time. Gone are the days of the vet being able to handle a barking little dog? Isn't that something they teach? This is the first time I have ever been to a place where the vet doesn't examine the dog. It's almost as if she just couldn't be bothered. Very strange. Maybe Covid has made ppl very weird in their behaviour?

Very happy with Dr. Kennedy. The best Vet we've had since moving across to this Surgery. He took the time to establish a rapport with both my dogs and they now think he's a bee's knees. His treatment for them was spot on too.

Took my dog down to get a growth checked out. A vet/nurse took a sample of the growth with a needle to look at its contents under the scope. They came back after a bit and said they didn't get a good sample but "it seems fine" cause they saw 1 cell that was fine. Seemed very amateurish, unprofessional and devoid of care. The vet did not offer to take another sample to see it again, they instead pushed me to a more expensive option of having it removed.

Our cat was very well looked after, it was transferred here after an overnight stay at an emergency vet, they took such good care of her and where really thoughtful with both the cat and us, would absolutely recommend.

Leo (New Vet there) was absolutely amazing with our cat. He took the time to thoroughly go through a full examination and talk me through all his medication without feeling rushed or leaving any questions unanswered. The after visit care regarding communication on how our cat was progressing was all top notch and genuine. Highly recommended. Mark
