Aitken Partners was founded as Aitken Walker & Strachan in 1923 by Phillip Aitken, Harold Walker and Ford Strachan. Phillip Aitken was the father of 2nd generation partners Bob and Phillip Aitken, uncle of Ford Strachan and grandfather of Robert Davey who is still with the firm.
We have grown and merged with other firms including Rank & Robinson, Leach & Thompson, Melville & Melville, Hume Lawyers, BJT (Melbourne), John Matthies & Co and DSC Lawyers and continue to look for ways to expand our services and expertise. For us, standing still is not an option. About us
Report
Aitken Partners' Melbourne lawyers have a broad base of expertise across a range of commercial, property, litigious and regulatory fields. We have eleven principals and 25 other professional staff, many of whom are Accredited Specialists in their fields (including commercial law, property, taxation, Wills & Estates, commercial litigation, and family law).
Philosophy
Report
Aitken Partners is uniquely placed to understand the differing needs of private clients and business clients, having represented the interests of and advised both since the 1920s. The requirements of a client who has a stake in a business and a personal connection to its past and future, as compared to a client who answers to a board of management or directors are often different, but the required outcome is the same.
