Iluka WA, offers a very competitive bowling environment combined with a friendly and social atmosphere. The club facilities are in use 12 months of the year and our 4 A grade grass greens are maintained by a full time green keeper with some voluntary assistance. Our club provides free coaching by qualified coaches and the loan of club bowls for use during your lessons.

We had a beautiful sunny Sunday to play Scroungers, I think all of us have almost forgotten what a sunny Sunday was like. After 16 exciting ends we had Mike W, Terry F, Jacques H, Beryl L, Keith W and Sue W, all getting to the semi final. Jacques, Terry and Mike played off in one final with Terry pulling away in the last couple of ends.

Ends 1 to 5: Settle in, get the pace and draw lines right, observe the opposition and see what they want to play. Long ends? Skips and 3rds drive a lot? Mat placement? Which hand are they playing? Ends 16 to 21: If in front, set a target to pick up another 5 - 6 shots. Remember, 6 ends at 1 up means the opposition can't score and you control the game and how it is played.

Immediate Past President Dave Webber accepted the award in recognition of his role in developing the submission and his dedication to the Club for so long, being involved in one way or another in almost all of the activities, which together contributed to the winning of the Award. It proved a fitting and well deserved way for Dave to end his term as President.
