Our oldest daughter, Isabelle, started at Gumnuts on Hardy's Road when she was 10 months old. At the beginning, like most of other parents, I had mixed emotions and tonnes of worries about her not being able to adjust to the new environment. However, not long after talking to the educators on that first day, most of my worries were gone.
The staff members are so friendly and easy to talk to and after being shown around the centre. Thank you to all the staff members for your great work. If you are looking for an environment to send your children to that feels like home, then Gumnuts is the place to go. Our son Bryce has grown so much in the time that he has been there.

Liala Davighi was studying philosophy at the University of New South Wales, during which time she had her first baby and her first experience in child care. The campus child care services were full with wait lists in the hundreds. Along with other students, she petitioned the students union and within nine months the university funded a house and the students organised a child care cooperative.

Our centre wide philosophy is inspired by various early childhood theories, frameworks and practices as well as the knowledge and experiences of our current educators and leadership team. With its base forged by our responsibility to comply with National Quality Standards for Early Years Care (NQS) and the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), together we have established eight pillars which form the core of our philosophy.
