Our mission at Mt Annan Eyecare is to build long term relationships with the community through excellence in eye care. We are a primary care optometric practice dedicated to providing personalised high quality vision care to families from infancy to elderly. We take a special interest in vision care for children.

We offer Office Based Vision Therapy for the treatment of binocular vision problems and learning-related vision difficulties. Our approach is developmental. We are dedicated to helping our patients learn how to use their vision in a more meaningful way and be more successful in whatever they do. Proper visual development is key to a child's overall development.

Behavioural Optometry
Report
This dynamic process involves eye movements, holding fixation, shifting focus, maintaining eye alignment, and controlling attention in order to seek out and visually process our world. It is estimated that more than 85% of all learning is done through vision, which is the dominant process in the human species.
Adult Eye Exams
Report
We recommend all adults, especially those over the age of 40, have a comprehensive eye examination every 2 years. At Mt Annan Eyecare, you can expect that a comprehensive eye examination includes thorough eye health assessments and determination of how your visual system works. Functional evaluation also establishes how your eyes team, or work together, to help you see.
Visual Information Processing
Report
Visual Information Processing refers to how we make use of available visual information. Good visual information processing means being able to quickly and accurately process and analyse what is being seen, and store it in visual memory for later recall.

Traditional eye tests cannot detect problems with visual skills, as they focus on the physical structure and the optics of the eyes (physiology), rather than looking at how the child is using and interpreting visual information. Our brain receives more than two thirds of its input from the eyes and these must also be combined with other senses and inputs to obtain a more holistic and thorough understanding.
