Gold Coast Spine
At Gold Coast Spine we are passionate about improving people's lives by providing the highest quality spine care. What we do to make this happen is based on over 20 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery and the best information available about treating spinal conditions. We want to help you better understand what to expect.

So, we have developed some example patient journeys based on 20 years of patients coming to Gold Coast Spine. The Case Studies give you a look into some of the different journeys our patients take with us. You're probably not "Russell the Farmer" or "Maria the College Student" but you may end up sharing parts of their journeys.

What We Do
Report
At Gold Coast Spine, by using a multi-disciplinary approach to treating spinal conditions, we work with our patients to achieve the best possible outcome. Dr Scott-Young partners with physicians, surgeons from other specialities, radiologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, spinal physiotherapists and other allied health professionals to ensure that each patient gets a precision diagnosis and care that is tailored to their individual needs.
Dr Scott-Young
Report
I only ever wanted to be a doctor. My Dad was a general surgeon in Northern Queensland and my Mum was a registered nurse, so medicine was part of the fabric of our family. I was taught that looking after people was a privilege. After finishing my medical degree at the University of Queensland, I studied to be an orthopaedic surgeon, finishing my training in 1995.

Report
At Gold Coast Spine our first job is to identify the source of your symptoms. We do this by talking to you about your symptoms, conducting a thorough examination and organising the most appropriate investigations to be done. We find that taking these steps each time leads to a precision diagnosis for our patients in most cases.
