Floreat Athena Football Club is delighted to announce it has signed a major partnership with Australian law firm Workplace Law, effective immediately which will run at least until the end of the 2022 season. Nearly 300 people packed our club room last to witness a once in a generation event as we paid tribute to the volunteers and heroes of our great club.

It was capped off by the unveiling of our "Dream Team" featuring players who fielded the pitch way back in the 1950's. Thank you to the Hon. Minister for Sport, Dr Toni Buti MLA for his keynote address and support, Mayor Emma Cole and City of Vincent councillors, the Greek Consulate and all special guests.

The Goddess
Report
The ancient Greek goddess Athena is the emblematic mascot of our club. She is the goddess of wisdom, courage, strength, strategy and skill. Her divinity and all that she represents was the inspiration for those who established the Athena Soccer Club back in 1951. In mythological sense, Athena provided protection and guidance to those of heroic endeavour.
E & D Litis Stadium
Report
Floreat Athena's home ground was renamed E & D Litis Stadium from Lake Monger Velodrome in 1998 to recognise the significant contribution that Evangelos and Despo Litis made towards the redevelopment of the ground and surrounding stadium. It is the home of our NPL sides and was the venue for the annual Community World Cup, organised by the Latin American Association of WA.
Goalkeepers
Report
In 2021, as part of our 70th anniversary celebrations, a Dream Team of past and current players was voted for. Born in London in 1953, Colin made his way over to Western Australia in his 20s and quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the goal square.

He played for three seasons for the blue and whites between 1974 to 1976, winning the Fairest and Best in '74 and winning the Top Four Cup in '75 in a 3-1 win over Perth Azzuri- the club's first piece of major silverware.Bowles also represented the state and went on to work as a freelance journalist and writer, penning dozens of books, often going by his pen name, "Colin Falconer".
