Mount Waverley Bowling Club
The Club's beginnings can be traced back to 1959 when a meeting attended by over 50 people was held with the aim of establishing a Bowling Club in the Mount Waverley area. To demonstrate tangible evidence of worthwhile support for the proposal, people interested were asked to pay a subscription of 10 shillings.

Shortly after the meeting, over 100 people had paid the subscription. Several frustrating years passed as the Committee established to implement the proposal endeavoured to procure a suitable area of land to establish greens. No less than nine separate sites were investigated before, in 1961, the Waverley City Council advised that it was prepared to enclose a creek reserve (Damper Creek - East) off Alvie Road for the Club's use.
Services
Coaching
Report
All bowlers, particularly new bowlers, are offered FREE individual coaching using the Club's bowls by one of our qualified coaches. These coaching sessions can be conducted at a mutually convenient time. In addition, our panel of accredited coaches under the direction of the Head Coach conduct regular coaching sessions throughout the year.
Weekend
Report
Not the best way to end the home and away season by having all three Sides washed out. It is very unfortunate that Sides 2 and 3 who most likely may have won their matches and potentially have finished in fourth place in their sections, missing out this season. Side 1 finished on top of their section, a magnificent result and well done to all players for their contributions.
Functions
Report
Our greens comprise two natural grass greens (one bent grass and the other tift dwarf) and one synthetic grass green, permitting year round bowling. The comfortable Clubhouse comprises a bar-lounge, a large function room capable of seating up to 180 people, a commercial kitchen, offices, locker rooms and toilets.
