Back in 1982, MDS envisioned a world where people with a disability participated fully in society and were valued and empowered to realise their potential.' This vision that Macarthur Disability Services began in 1982 has continued to inspire our aims and goals and has enabled MDS to become a premier non-profit community organisation in the Macarthur region.

With operations across South West Sydney and the Southern Highlands, MDS continues to lead the way in their person centred approaches to service delivery. MDS to become an industry leader in the recognition and development of skilled and professional staff.

Kristie is an Executive Manager Property Strategy and Governance with Westpac Group, with a background in Human Resources. Kristie has an interest in social equity and in providing opportunities for community participation and employment for people with a disability. Kristie is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is Australia's first national scheme for people with a disability. The NDIS model gives direct funding to individuals in the form of an NDIS Plan. The NDIS replaced the previous system of providing block funding to agencies and community organisations.

The NDIS is a federally managed and funded safety net, providing a nationally consistent lifetime commitment to people who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services.The NDIA is an independent Commonwealth Government Agency responsible for overseeing the NDIS. If you are eligible for the NDIS, you will receive an individual funding package to purchase supports from service providers.

The description of the artwork is about representation of connection through our water ways and how Nations/people share through song-lines and story lines, the circles represent the meeting places and representation of gathering people together to share and care for one mob. The visual separation of places but still connected through Gunhi (mother) and flowing water.

The Accommodation site currently has 4 ladies and would be best suited to welcome other mature aged ladies. We invite you to join us for a lovely weekend down in the Southern Highlands staying at our beautiful Mittagong House. This service will run over a weekend (for a 2-night stay.)

The girls had a blast helping staff to style their outdoor area with fabulous decorations and some of our residents even got fully dressed up for dinner as they enjoyed a fantastic dinner of corned beef.Every resident received a single rose with resident Christine saying "You made my day."
Allied Health

We offer a range of Allied Health services across NSW both in person and virtually via telehealth and Zoom. You can purchase these services by paying privately (fee for service) or by using your NDIS funding categories Improved Relationships or Improved Daily Living.
