Northside Veterinary Centre
The Northside Veterinary Centre team provides high quality and personal veterinary care to the Canberra community. We believe in compassionate animal care, with consideration to pet and family needs. With more and more vet clinics owned by corporations and multinationals, Northside Veterinary Centre is passionate about offering community centered and up-to-date veterinary care.

We are a fear free clinic. This means that we are dedicated to alleviating and preventing fear, anxiety, and stress in all pets and we strive to educate the people who care for them.
Services
At The Northside Veterinary Centre, we believe in a team based approach for the care of your pets. Libby and Winston have worked together in Canberra for over 18 years, and our team of 9 vets have over 90 years combined experience. All medical and surgical cases are discussed by the vets each day, so every patient gets the benefit of at least five minds, not just one!
For Emergencies during opening hours, please phone our reception on (02) 6182 0111. We will always prioritise your pet in severe emergencies (e.g. car accident, snake bite, seizures), but a phone call before arriving will allow us to prepare for your arrival. If your pet has been bitten by a snake, please make your way to the nearest open veterinary clinic.
Please help us create an accurate computer record for you and your pet by completing the questionnaire below. Completing this online also saves time when you first visit us. Where was your pet last seen so we can have the history emailed directly to our clinic to assist your pet to the best of our ability.
Puppy socialisation classes are an important part of any puppy's development into a well adjusted canine citizen! Puppy classes at Northside Veterinary Centre aim to facilitate your puppy's transition into a confident, well adjusted puppy. From 8-14 weeks of age, puppies go through what we call their "critical socialisation period", which is a key developmental stage in which they are most receptive to learning and accepting new experiences.
We recommend seeing your pet at least yearly for a health check and vaccination review. During this appointment, your pet will receive a thorough physical examination to check for any problems. Your vet will discuss your pet's diet, activity and any concerns you have. Together you and your vet will discuss if any vaccinations are due, discuss any recommended parasite prevention products, and any health concerns found during the examination.

Our last experience - the third in 12 hours - was as good as it could have been, given the very sad outcome. But our first visit was less than satisfactory. I suppose it depends on who you get.

A little on the pricey side but were able to fit my puppy in for her first vet visit last minute!
I don’t drive so having a vet that’s friendly and don’t mind my 1million questions within walking distance is something worth paying for

Every experience we’ve had with Northside Veterinary Centre has been fantastic. We’ve been really impressed with their super friendly and communicative staff, who’ve gone above and beyond to make sure our (very nervous) greyhound has been happy and comfortable. Can’t recommend them enough!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and well set-up with cat-friendly and dog-friendly zones to reduce the stress on our furry friends. They take a very thorough medical and environmental history and provide useful information for improving things at home too.
Wait times were minimal, and the entire place was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
