Services
Bulldog/brachycephalic Clinic
Report
At Niddrie Vets we have experience with all brachycephalic (short-nosed dogs such as Pugs, Bulldogs) health considerations, including anaesthetics. Ed even has one at home! Breathing- Due to the shape of their head these guys often have a restricted airflow which can restrict their ability to enjoy life and can be dangerous in hot weather.
Annual Health Checks
Report
Because pets age so rapidly major health changes can occur in a short amount of time. The risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, heart disease and other serious conditions all increase with age. A lot of diseases can be subtle at the beginning, which is why a trained eye is best- your pet may appear healthy to you but we often identify small problems before they become too big.
Behavioural Advice
Report
Whilst all the vets at Niddrie Vet Clinic are happy to see behaviour cases, Anne has a special interest in this field and loves to chat about these problems. Behavioural problems can be due to behavioural causes, medical causes, or both.

We will investigate behavioural problems by obtaining a full history and conducting a full examination (sometimes your pet may require blood or urine tests to rule out underlying medical conditions) to accurately diagnose a problem.Behavioural problems are often the combined effect of many factors, including your pet's environment and learning.
Cat Vaccination
Report
Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives. Adult cats require regular vaccination to maintain immunity against disease. Our kitten schedule is first vaccination at 8 weeks and a second vaccine at 12 weeks.
Dog Vaccination
Report
Responsible pet care requires puppies to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives. Adult dogs require regular vaccination to maintain immunity against disease. Our puppy schedule is vaccination at 6-8 weeks then a follow-up vaccination at 10-12 weeks.
