Influenza is a viral infection caused by influenza types A, B or C. The virus is transmitted by virus' containing aerosols produced by coughing, sneezing or be direct contact with respiratory secretions.

Asthma is caused by the narrowing of the airways in the lungs, and symptoms can include wheezing, coughing (particularly at night), chest tightness, difficulty in breathing and shortness of breath.

Patients who have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs and are being managed by GP under a GP Management Plan (item 721) and Team Care Arrangements (item 723) are eligible for Medicare rebates for certain allied health services on referral from their GP (Wagga).
