Sunshine Coast
Report
The Sunshine Coast - there are 3,130 square kilometres of coastline and hinterland from Pelican Waters to Tewantin - Caloundra to Noosa. Kilometres of unspoiled beauty and pure bliss, from the clean, white, sandy beaches to the delightful markets full of imaginative local crafts and fashion. And the food is wonderful.
Bli Bli
Report
Did you know that Bli Bli has one of the most mispronounced names on the Sunshine Coast? Bli Bli is full of surprises - imagine a huge castle on a hill in the middle of the Sunshine Coast! It's even called Sunshine Castle, and, even more unexpectedly, it is an award-winning museum that fascinates people of all ages and all backgrounds.
Buderim
Report
Looking down on the pretty southern towns of the Sunshine Coast from up on Mount Buderim is Buderim itself, perhaps the most charming of all the lovely Hinterland towns. It's hard to believe now that it was originally carved out of the dense rainforest. Buderim is the oldest established European settlement on the Sunshine Coast and still has a very strong community spirit.
Coolum
Report
Are you looking for a delightful, picturesque seaside town down on the Sunshine Coast? Visit Coolum and you won't be able to resist falling in love with the whole concept of the ancient Aborigine legend that Ninderry knocked off Coolum's head and it fell into the ocean and is now Mudjimba Island. European castaways and shipwrecked sailors first landed here in1823, but it was not until about 60 years later that sugarcane was planted.
Cooroy
Report
When is a butter factory not a butter factory? When it becomes an arts centre! The butter factory in question is in Cooroy, where the bookshop serves tea and coffee, the cake shop delivers, and the woodworkers carve everything from boxes to musical instruments.

And there are three terrific Cooroy Farmers & Artisans Markets a month, where there is a focus on local products and you can find the freshest fruit and vegetables as well as fun and funky gifts. The Fearnley Bird Hide is in Jabiru Park, no more than five minutes drive east of Cooroy. You will spot phalanxes of storks and geese and grebes overhead there, and lovely Lake Macdonald is even richer in wildlife.
