The quickest and easiest way to make a claim is to contact CGU directly on 13 24 80. Claims can be lodged 24 hours / 7 days a week. If you need to make a life insurance, travel insurance, consumer credit insurance, or home warranty claim, please read the instructions on the relevant page. Once you've made a claim, we will allocate a claims consultant who will keep in touch with you about the status of your claim and next steps.

I was with CGU for my car insurance for a few years, however this year when I received my car insurance renewal to my surprise, my premium had increased by $500, in one year without ANY claims and a 0 NCD rating. I called to enquire about the $500 increase. To my surprise the call centre weren't very helpful, the gentleman simply said "I should increase my excess." I'd recommend looking around. I moved to Budget Direct, who offer Choice of Repairer as an excess and windscreen cover excess, and even with both of these extras added it still ended up coming in at only 1.2K. CGU was 1.8K no thanks

DO NOT TAKE INSURANCE WITH CGU. Absolutely Pathetic. A water damage claim that was wrongly assessed by their builder on a claim that took more than 14 months to have completed. Once the work was completed the same issue in my roof happened in the exact same spot after two days of being fixed and they told me I would need to lodge another claim and pay the excess again. Not to mention the absolutely disgusting customer service Calls were not returned, they do not care about their customer they just care about getting your money into their pockets. Unconcerned about clients no matter what, all they care about is their money.Greedy insurance keep raising they premiums every month. My insurance started off $60/- a month now I left them because I landed up paying $120/- a month for a small car Honda City. And trust me I had 2 cars insured with them.
Even my Grand Jeep Cherokee with another insurer for $102/- a month.
