North Star Family Psychology was established by Dr Sharifa Syed. She has over twenty years experience as a Psychologist helping clients with difficulties that they are facing in a non-judgmental and encouraging environment. Sharifa is a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (registration #PSY0001161528).
What To Expect

With children and teens the first appointment is generally a session that includes parents/guardians and the psychologist. For all clients this is a time when you can speak about your current life situation and any difficulties you might be having. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to explain what you hope to achieve with therapy and to get a plan of action.
Appointments / Fees
Report
A referral is not required for an appointment at North Star Family Psychology. However, most clients find they are eligible to receive a rebate from Medicare and present with a Mental Health Care Plan and referral from their GP. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends a fee of $251 for a 50-minute psychology consultation.
