If you are concerned about your animal in any way this app is perfect to read up on anything you wish to know. UPDATE: We are always in tick season. Paralysis tick is a major concern at Batemans Bay. Please ensure that your pet is covered. There are many options (for example, spot-on's, tick collars, tablets, chewable etc.) and some may suit some patients more than others (i.e. if your dog swims, then a tick collar would not be ideal).
Batemans Bay Veterinary Clinic is owned and operated by Dr Paula Roberts. Dr Paula Roberts has been a veterinarian for over 30 years and has lived and worked in Batemans Bay for at least 15 years. We have our own surgery cat called "Bella" if you have not met her she certainly will tell you she runs the place.

Four years ago, Tricia decided it was time for a career change and left her job in finance and completed Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has been working at our clinic for Five years now and enjoys living in this area of the NSW coast. Tricia is hoping to keep working in the Vet industry until she retires in a few years.
Because pets age so rapidly, major health changes can occur in a short amount of time. The risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, heart disease and other serious conditions all increase with age. Today's pets are living longer than ever, chances are that many may experience a potentially serious illness during their lifetime.
Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, intestinal worms and heartworms. Please see our heartworm page for more information. Worming is one of the first health care issues pet owners need to address as pups and kittens are the most susceptible. As their name suggests, intestinal worms are parasites that live inside your pet's intestines.

Heartworm, or Dirofilaria immitis, is a parasite that is spread by mosquitoes, so you pet does not even need to be in contact with other pets to become infected!

My mum’s little toy poodle had to visit the Batemans Bay vet today and it was such a positive experience. From the vet nurses that greeted us to the Vet that looked after my mum’s little dog - that were all such lovely people. Probably the nicest vet and vet nurses that I have come across in many years! Thanks so much. Regards Jenni, mum June and Jedda!

Our Cavalier Lady became seriously on Friday last week. She was lethargic, unsteady and would not eat. I took her to one of the local vet's on Saturday morning who examined her and told me she may have an upset tummy. I took her home & she continued to worsen. Sunday morning we took her to see Paula, she examined her thoroughly, she immediately observed that she was severely dehydrated. Lady was admitted & put onto a drip to rehydrate her. Following blood tests it was determined that she had an infection & was given antibiotics. Monday morning Paula called & gave us a detailed update, & informed
