Noosa has a protected natural environment. The Noosa region has been afforded an international Biosphere reserve status by UNESCO, and is the gateway to World Heritage Fraser Island. The Noosa National Park starts at the end of Hastings Street and offers spectacular views of Noosa.

There is a coastal track which ends at Hells Gate with a fabulous view over the ocean and along the coast where you can often spot turtles, dolphins and whales (in season).The return distance is 5.4 km and takes about 2 hours. The Noosa Everglades is known as the river of mirrors with fantastic wildlife with guided and self guided tours on offer, or can be visited by boat from Noosaville.
