Active Physiotherapy Mackay has been established since 2009 providing comprehensive physiotherapy services to the Mackay region. Our current team of 14 physiotherapists, backed up by our experienced administration team, aim to offer the very best patient care.

We treat a number of conditions, with special areas of interest including continence and pelvic floor, complex shoulder and neck assessment, manipulative therapy and spinal mobility, occupational health including pre-employment functional assessments and workplace/ergonomic assessments, and chronic pain education.Carmel Ballard is our Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist, providing full time massage services.

Danielle is a senior physiotherapist in pelvic health, which encompasses bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction, along with pregnancy related dysfunction and pelvic pain. After 15 years of continuous learning, she is now commencing her PhD in bladder physiotherapy. 75% of Danielle's case load comprises complex conditions such as obstructed defecation or fecal incontinence, urge urinary incontinence, pudendal neuralgia and dyspareunia.

Our initial consultation fee reflects an extended length of the initial consultation, as an indepth interview is conducted to gain information about a new condition. Subsequent visits pertaining to the same condition within 3 months of the last visit, will be charged at a lower subsequent consultation rate.

Some private health funds have established "Preferred Provider" or "Members Choice" programs. The true meaning of these terms is commonly misconstrued. Being part of a "Preferred Provider" or "Members Choice" program has no relationship to the quality of the care you will receive. In fact, it could actually mean the opposite.

Active Physio runs a dedicated shoulder clinic to service the residents of Mackay who are experiencing shoulder problems. A team of 3 physiotherapists with a clinical interest in shoulders are available and provide a highly professional service. Patients are offered a thorough detailed assessment of all the factors influencing their shoulder pain and are provided with a comprehensive and individualised treatment plan to address these.
