Services
Hand Therapy
Our comprehensive hand therapy services address injuries and conditions affecting fingers, hands, wrists, and elbows. Specialised treatments include custom splinting, post-operative rehabilitation, and pain management programs. Therapists employ evidence-based techniques to restore functionality for daily activities, sports, and occupational tasks. With 12 Melbourne locations and telehealth options, we provide accessible care for acute injuries, chronic conditions, and post-surgical recovery needs.
Custom Splints
We specialise in immediate custom splint fabrication using thermoplastic materials during initial consultations. Our therapists create wrist supports, finger immobilisers, and thumb braces tailored to individual anatomy and treatment requirements. These devices aid recovery from fractures, tendon injuries, and inflammatory conditions while maintaining comfort and functionality during daily activities.
Telehealth Consultations
Telehealth services deliver expert hand therapy consultations via secure video platforms. This option benefits rural patients, those with mobility limitations, and individuals preferring remote care. Therapists provide exercise demonstrations, progress assessments, and treatment planning while maintaining the same clinical standards as in-person visits.
Post-Operative Care
Specialised rehabilitation programs support recovery following hand and wrist surgeries. Our therapists coordinate care with surgeons to implement staged treatment plans involving scar management, joint mobilisation, and progressive strengthening. Services include post-operative swelling control, nerve gliding exercises, and functional activity retraining to optimise surgical outcomes.
Pain Management
We address persistent hand and wrist pain through multimodal treatment approaches. Services include nerve pain management, arthritis interventions, and ergonomic assessments. Therapists employ manual therapy techniques, custom exercise programs, and adaptive equipment recommendations to reduce discomfort and improve quality of life for patients with chronic conditions.

Many thanks to Melbourne Hand Rehab. I really wanted to thank your team for a wonderful result and experience! Crystal and Ed in particular were supportive, knowledgeable and encouraging when I was worried about my progress and my ability to get back to the sport I love (rowing). Such a great outcome and care. I am now back to rowing both sweep and scull...something I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to do again after having bones removed from my wrist (Proximal Row Carpectomy). Many, many thanks!!!

As a physiotherapist working for 30 years, I've seen too many cases of people who have underestimated the long-term consequences of not appropriately managing their wrist, hand and finger injuries. At Mill Park Physiotherapy, we refer to Melbourne Hand Rehab principally because of their high level of expertise in this niche area of therapy. Their staff have to undergo a high level of specific training to be able to see patients under the Melbourne Hand banner. They know what they're doing
