What is an aerobic system? An aerobic system is one in which air is used in the operation of the system, an Aerobic Waste Water Treatment System (AWWTS). This name distinguishes it from an anaerobic or Septic Tank System. AWWTS introduce air by way of fine bubbles into the water under treatment in the tank.
