Point Lonsdale is a 90 minute drive from Melbourne and 20 minutes from Geelong. You'll need to head west out of Melbourne over the Westgate Bridge and along the Princes Freeway to Geelong. From Geelong, simply follow the green signs on the Bellarine Highway towards Queenscliff. If you're traveling from other directions, there's a great network of highways linking regional centres to Geelong and various other points along the Great Ocean Road.

The "back beach" at Point Lonsdale offers great sand and swimming for the whole family. The "front beach" is a popular surf beach for experienced swimmers and is patrolled, in season, by the Point Lonsdale Surf Lifesaving Club. Reefs at the foot of the lighthouse are ideal for rock pool exploration during low tide.
