Never use Windex or other ammonia based glass cleaners as they will slowly damage the film, causing it to look frosted. You can also use methylated spirits to clean off stubborn dirt or marks, but use it sparingly and don't let it dribble to the bottom of the film. The good news is that the scratch proof surface of window film is smoother than glass and in general it will take longer to get dirty.

I agree that it's a good idea to get more than one quote for any job. Although, when it comes to window tinting, it's easy to get bogged down looking at different films and all the specifications. Most window tinting companies offer the same service and similar products so don't be fooled by people who say that a company has poor quality film or installers.

You might save a bit of money. But, you might need some specialised tools, instructions, practice and a huge amount of patience to get it looking good. Also consider the price; Window film is not cheap, so if you purchase film and muck it up, you will have to buy it again and you'll probably end up spending more than you would if you got a professional to install it.

The manufacturer warrants their film products against cracking, crazing, discolouring, demetallising, delaminating or adhesive failure when the film is applied to internal glass surfaces. Lifetime warranty on domestic tinting and frosting for as long as you own and live in the home. In the event of a product failure, the manufacturer will supply replacement film and pay for the labour.
