What charter options are available?
We offer Standard Full Day (7:30am-4pm), Extended Full Day (6:30am-6pm), and Overnight Live-Abroad charters. Custom corporate packages and gift certificates are also available.
What species can I expect to catch?
Target species include snapper, nannygai, samsonfish, Southern bluefin tuna, kingfish, and various shark species in depths reaching 200+ metres.
What equipment is provided?
All tackle, rods, bait, and ice are included. Fish gutting/gilling services are free, with optional filleting and catering available upon request.
Are there age restrictions?
Standard charters require participants aged 12+. Extended and overnight charters have higher minimum ages due to duration and physical requirements.
How do I prepare for a charter?
Bring water, food, appropriate clothing, and a filleting knife. We provide detailed preparation guides covering safety requirements and recommended gear.
What happens if weather affects the charter?
Trips may be rescheduled due to adverse conditions. Accommodation packages include no-obligation booking terms for weather-related cancellations.

Contacted Reef Encounters to try and book in a fishing charter and they worked myself into a fishing charter.
Travelled to Kangaroo island via boat and managed to hook onto some large Tuna, Snook, Nannygai, Sweep, Blue Morwong and many more. Crew did a fantastic job to accommodate all fisherman for the day. Would highly recommend, I look forward to my next fishing charter with Reef Encounters.

The best day ever, Mark and deckhand was awesome. We had family from UK who has never caught a fish before and they both ended with a tuna and several other fish. We caught 7 tuna for the day.

I have fished many times with Reef Encounters over many years and brought many mates who inturn have been return customers also both with and with me. I can not stress enough the professionalism of Mark, and crew when out on the water. They go above and beyond to help you get onto quality fish of many species from table to sports fishing. Once your onto the fish they make your day fun by helping with your catch getting it in the boat and off the hook and end of the day if you want gilling and gutting your fish also. The amazing support actually starts before your trip with even booking and organising
