Your Local Tennis Club in Toowoomba Since 1920
Established in 1920, Holy Name Tennis Club stands as one of Toowoomba's oldest continually operating tennis facilities. Our club transitioned from traditional ant bed courts to modern artificial grass surfaces in 2005, thanks to a dedicated community effort that transported and reinstalled four courts from Brisbane. We offer year-round access to well-maintained courts equipped with LED lighting since 2019, complemented by a sheltered viewing area and upgraded amenities. Our social tennis programs cater to all skill levels, with structured sessions for morning, afternoon, and night play across seven days. The club maintains a strong community focus, hosting events like Australia Day celebrations and supporting local members through initiatives like the Keith Dighton Memorial Trophy. Our competitive hire rates include day and night options, with EFTPOS convenience and a family-friendly environment featuring a barbecue area for hire. The committee-led management ensures ongoing improvements, evidenced by recent upgrades to lighting and court surfaces. Our history of fostering veterans' tennis through annual tournaments spans nearly five decades, reflecting our commitment to tennis accessibility for all ages. The club's resilience through challenges like water restrictions demonstrates our adaptability while maintaining core traditions. Today, we continue welcoming new members and casual players while preserving the legacy of dedicated volunteers like Keith Dighton, whose 50-year contribution shaped our facilities.
