Services
About
Report
United Aero Helicopters was formed by Jim Norrie and Sam Borg with the aim of providing a first class helicopter service specialising in the fields of fire fighting and remote area utility support. The company's management team has been involved in the industry for over 24 years as both pilots and managers of multiple aircraft organisations.
Airborne Surveys
Report
United Aero Helicopters has particular expertise in the highly demanding field of Airborne Geophysics. Our managers and pilots have all flown and/or organised many thousands of hours of survey flying in: Gravity & Seismic, Magnetometer, Spectrometer, Electro-magnetic, and Laser surveys.

Minimal cross track error on flight lines, very accurate height control whilst contouring and close attention to speed control, and at the same time keeping perfect swing control when bird towing, are all finely tuned skills acquired by our survey pilots. Our specific survey check & training programme is second to none when it comes to ensuring pilots can handle this flight profile.
Fire Suppression
Report
United Aero Helicopters' ability to pilot and manage many aircraft during long fire campaign periods is well established. Programming maintenance to provide maximum availability of the helicopters to the Fire Agency. Rostering of Engineering staff to ensure that the aircraft are properly maintained whilst also considering the engineers fatigue levels.
Aerial Construction
Report
An increasingly popular method of positioning equipment and materials is to utilise a helicopter as an aerial crane platform. Conventional cranes are often cumbersome and time-consuming to set up, experience maximum weight difficulties on certain surfaces such as suspended slab car parks and have limited reach on large factory sites.
Flood Relief
Report
United Aero Helicopters has a long history of responding to natural disasters such as fires, floods and plague locust. Our pilots and managers are equipped and ready to respond to this unfortunate fact of Australian life. Large areas of Australia's agricultural areas are at times inundated with flood waters making everyday tasks for local inhabitants and their livestock almost impossible.
