Master Japanese Cooking with Expert Classes in Riverton
At Shikisai Cooking, we are dedicated to demystifying Japanese cuisine and empowering individuals to create authentic, healthy dishes at home. Founded in 2015 by professional chef Kyoko Yoshida, our approach emphasizes small, intimate classes with a maximum of six participants to ensure personalized instruction. Our curriculum focuses on foundational techniques, seasonal ingredients, and practical skills tailored to both beginners and advanced learners. With a background in nutrition and diabetes-focused meal planning, Kyoko combines culinary expertise with a passion for sharing traditional Japanese cooking methods. Our team of experienced instructors, including certified assistants and specialists in children's classes, ensures a supportive environment for all skill levels.

As a commercial kitchen, we prioritize hands-on learning over aesthetic presentation, offering customized classes for families, students, and industry professionals. Students leave with not only completed dishes but also the confidence to replicate and adapt recipes independently. Our commitment to quality education has earned recognition from local food writers and consistently positive feedback from participants. We operate from a dedicated space at Riverton Primary School, serving the Perth metropolitan area and beyond. Through group classes, private sessions, and corporate demonstrations, we aim to make Japanese cooking accessible, enjoyable, and deeply rooted in cultural understanding.

As a family we booked a private session to learn the basics of Japanese cooking and flavours. It was amazing. We all learnt so much which we have already put into practice. I would highly recommend this to others.

Kyoko is a great authentic Japanese cooking teacher. We thoroughly enjoyed our private class with her. Make sure you bring along a big empty container for all the food you will make. Highly recommend.
