Since purchasing Cascades Nursery in 2004, Ian and Mandy McCorkindale have developed the business to reflect their shared interest and passion in the hugely diversified world of trees. Because we are situated in the cooler climate of Batlow in the Snowy Mountains, our trees are suited to our broad customer base in the cool climate areas of Yass, Murrumbateman, Canberra, Cooma, Berridale, Adaminaby, Jindabyne and surrounding regions.
Ian is well known for his range of quality trees at Canberra Region Farmers Market every Saturday morning. He is also at Cooma and Murrumbateman on various Sundays each month. See 'Other Stuff' page for details. For these areas, advance orders are welcome with delivery available. Our extensive range varies IN SIZE from the smallest through to the biggest of trees.

Cascades Nursery in Batlow is situated at 800 metres elevation on the western side of the NSW Snowy Mountains. Our business is UNIQUE IN THE RETAIL NURSERY INDUSTRY in that we do not solely buy and sell plants. Much of what we sell, we actually grow. What we don't grow, we source locally or from similar climatic regions, further growing them in the sun, wind and frost to 'harden' and acclimatise them to our customers' growing conditions.
Choosing a Tree

Trees growing in a range of heights and widths, thus creating a variety of shapes. Some trees grow in a dense form. This means that although they are not tall, they occupy precious space in a garden whose owners don't have either the time, energy or knowledge to prune them. There are other trees which grow in a more tall and open shape; they easily provide shade, while only the trunk occupies personal space in the garden.
