Horse Riding Lessons
Professional horse riding instruction tailored to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced riders. Our qualified instructors use structured techniques to develop riding proficiency, safety awareness, and horse-handling skills. Lessons focus on building confidence through practical experience with our well-trained herd in natural surroundings.
Kids Club
Structured weekly riding sessions for children during school terms, with age and ability-based groupings. The program develops horsemanship skills through supervised activities, including riding practice, stable management basics, and safety education. Requires prior assessment through private lessons to ensure appropriate placement.
Holiday Camps
Two-day residential programs combining horse management, riding instruction, and team-building activities. Camps for ages 8-16 include dressage, show jumping, and trail riding with expert supervision. No prior experience required, with all meals, accommodation, and equipment provided for a comprehensive equestrian experience.
Equine-Assisted Programs
Non-riding programs designed to build emotional resilience and social skills through horse interactions. Facilitated by qualified professionals using trauma-informed approaches, these sessions focus on communication, trust-building, and emotional regulation through ground-based horsemanship activities tailored to individual needs.
Beach Rides

Questions
What riding experience is required for lessons?
No prior experience is required. Our instructors assess riders before lessons to determine appropriate group placement based on skill level.
Are there age restrictions for Kids Club?
Kids Club accepts children from 8 years old. Teenage Camps are available for ages 13-16 with tailored activities and supervision.
What's included in holiday camp fees?
Camp fees include accommodation, meals, horse hire, and all riding activities. Participants need only bring personal riding gear and clothing.
Is the centre currently operating normally?
We're relocating to a new facility at Dove Mountain. Current operations include Kids Club, Pony Walks, and Beach Rides. Trail rides will resume once relocation completes.

Our family of 5 enjoyed a lovely 2 hour trail ride with a few opportunities to try trotting along the way. Well run and friendly staff. The horses had a bit of personality and it felt like an adventure, not just a bunch of horses blindly following the same path they always take. A great time was had by all.

Honestly used to love coming here when the trail was AMAZING when we had loads of opportunities to canter and trot but with the new trail I was only able to trot and canter twice for a couple seconds each and the trail was very rocky and dangerous

First time here and what a great experience!!! A great range of horses with great personalities and Mary and caroline were amazing!! Such a great feel to the place, can't wait to come back!!

I was really disappointed, by the trail ... We went through the forest which wasn't great, lot of steep climb ( I felt really sorry for the horses, they wasn't young so that even worse for them). Although the woman who guided us was friendly, she wasn't really keen to talk and teach us about horses. Bella not friendly but she is just a kid so I can totally understand. As the forest was narrow then the trail went up so slow. Was really boring. I expect to trail with horses in a vast forest, slow and more fast , learn about them and horses in general but nothing of that ...

Took our two kids (aged 9 and 12) for a 2 hour guided horse trailride and it was an incredible experience riding through the forest. Beautiful horses, friendly staff and the guide Taylor was amazing with the kids. Thank you #valerytrails for an experience of a lifetime! Highly recommended.
