Sadly, my experience did not resonate with the others shared here. Dr Poovalingam is extremely knowledgeable and thorough at explaining things, however I didn't feel like I was heard during our appointment, and ultimately felt my symptoms were dismissed as IBS. This was distressing, as I've been through a revolving door of doctors and tests over the past 18 months with no answers. Notably, I have a very high health literacy and understanding of the anatomical and physiological principles of the reproductive system, however I felt a lot of the appointment was spent explaining these things to me

Dr G is absolutely fantastic. He has such a professional and down-to-earth manner and explained everything to me with drawn diagrams so I understood. I cannot recommend him enough.
WOW, WOW, WOW - I had hysterectomy surgery at 7pm at night - home the next day (less than 24 hours in hospital). No pain, no anything - (was sent home with some pain-killers but didnt need any - felt 100%). Practice Manager and staff (Melinda) are also wonderful, and there to assist. Thank you Dr G and your great staff at Essendon.
PS: He is also very cute.
